A few nights ago, the International Disablity Alliance published its Resolutions With member organizations worldwide, IDA represents the estimated one billion people living with disabilities at the UN and International levels. Their report ‘ IDA’s Compilation of CRPD Committee’s Concluding Observations’ cites many articles signed by many countries, such as Saudia and India, but yet not Pakistan. In one of their articles, the IDA cites ‘States Parties undertake to ensure and promote the full realization of all human rights and fundamental freedoms for all persons with disabilities without discrimination of any kind based on disability

One of the difficulties that disabled people face at home is how they handle their home supplies. Here at GB Goodwill Movement, we, through our New Project,’ Led Bulb Projects,’ Team GBGM show how disabled people can help towards making LED Bulbs.

Due to social disability, people with disabilities in Gilgit-Baltistan encounter several difficulties in their daily lives. Social disability is the term used to describe how people with disabilities are excluded from and treated differently from other members of society. This article covers the difficulties that Gilgit-Baltistan’s disabled population faces as well as the initiatives taken by the movement for goodwill in Gilgit-Baltistan to enhance their quality of life.

A typical view from an ableist perspective is that all disabled people have the same thoughts, emotions, and feelings. While that is true to a sociopolitical extent, I argue that until one can not imagine or to visualize it, one can not focus or implement their vision/agenda. While the government can enforce X, Y, and Z Policies, they will only be instilled within society if people respect Persons With Disablities. But, of course, everyone can refute our claim suggesting that we respect Persons with Disablities in Gilgit Baltistan. However, we are not talking about Personal Respect but rather Institutional Respect.

A varied population, including people with disabilities, call Gilgit-Baltistan home. The area is well-known for its natural beauty and cultural legacy. Despite improvements in a number of areas, the administration in Gilgit-Baltistan has not paid enough attention to the rights and inclusion of individuals with disabilities. In order to enhance the environment for persons with disabilities in Gilgit-Baltistan, civil society and the government must play a critical role.
