Senior minister Obaid Ullah Baig visited Gilgit Baltistan’s Goodwill Movement office on 17th February to discuss the objectives of Gilgit Baltistan’s Goodwill Movement about how they are furthering the cause of persons with disabilities in the region. He met with the President of Gilgit Baltistan Goodwill Movement (GBGM), Farhan Baig, to discuss the current situation and the initiatives needed to uplift the disabled community in the region.
During the meeting, the senior minister expressed his ongoing commitment to improving the living standards of the disabled community in Gilgit Baltistan. He acknowledged the efforts of GBGM in supporting and empowering disabled persons within the region and pledged to collaborate with them in implementing effective measures to provide equal opportunities and access to resources for the disabled population.
The President of GBGM, Farhan Baig, highlighted the challenges faced by disabled persons in the region and emphasized the need for immediate action to address their concerns. He shared his vision for the disabled community and suggested several initiatives that could be undertaken to improve their lives. The senior minister appreciated the input and suggestions of the President and assured him of his support in implementing the proposed initiatives. He also pledged to increase the budget allocation for the welfare of the disabled community in Gilgit Baltistan and assured that their concerns would be addressed on priority.
The visit of the senior minister and the meeting with the President of GBGM is a testimony to the government’s commitment to the welfare of the disabled community in Gilgit Baltistan. It is a positive step towards building an inclusive society where everyone has access to equal opportunities and resources.
