A new hope, a new possibility. Reflecting on GB GWM’s 1st year in GB society

Muhammad Ali once said ‘ If my mind can conceive it if my heart can believe it–then I can achieve it.” Of course, a boxer from an ethnic minority in the USA was unthinkable in the 1950s and 60s America, but no matter what his circumstances were, he always fought on; that\\\’s what we need to do in our society.

People have ignored us in the past, but we must find solutions as long as our struggle is there. GB GWM has achieved a lot in a year, but we can do better with your support. In a recent interview, which is being published in the coming weeks, GB GWM’s Abrar Ahmed said ‘

To briefly outline the issues we internally face regarding the center, we

· Do not have a hostel facility for students. Generally, special persons aren’t accommodated in any hotel or youth hostel in Gilgit Baltistan.
· Do not have a transport facility for students. Gilgit is a big city and is the central economic hub
· Do not have enough money to afford student stipends at the moment.

For the next year, GB GWM is hoping to work to resolve these inequalities. We appeal to every individual to come forward and help us with this goal!
