This article discusses how nongovernmental organizations have contributed to the Goodwill Skills Development Centre.
As previously mentioned in numerous articles/publications, GB GWM is being supported by individuals and nongovernmental organizations in GB. Non Governmental organizations are less powerful than the state. A state has more power. Despite this, NGOs have expressed a willingness to work with GB GWM. Two particular NGOs that supported GB GWM are the Gilgit Baltistan Rural Support Programme and The Mehnaz Fatima organization.
To further expand on the Gilgit Baltistan Rural Support Programme, GBRSP supported the concept of the need for a skills development center for Persons with Disablities. GBRSP aims to improve the quality of life of the people of GB by creating livelihood opportunities. With this ambition, the GBRSP was a prominent donor to the project and continues to do so for the foreseeable future. When GBRSP met GB GWM’s President Farhan Baig, Team GBRSP praised the efforts of the GBGM and President Farhan Baig. While Farhan and the team outlined the vision of Ghulam Muhammad Baig, CEO of GBGM, GBRSP expressed great happiness over his vision and hoped that the organization would gain more success.
The Mehnaz Fatima Organisation followed GBRSP’s ideal model when it supported the GB GWM. Mehnaz Fatima is an organization that works with children with disablities. GB GWM complements this organization as we are working for adults with disablities. These social organizations are working together for persons with disablities. If the provincial government pays attention to such organizations, no disabled person will feel abandoned by the system. It is a reality that persons with disablities are ignored by the system.GB GWM, a disabled person-led organization, believes that disabled persons should work for disabled persons. There is ample evidence collected in developed countries that persons with disablities are effective contributors to society. We would request all to think about this again and again.
